JAMB ex-Registrar And Family’s Corruption Arraignment Delayed
The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC) had a problem when trying to bring a former Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Lawrence Adedibu Ojerinde, and his family to court on new corruption charges. Ojerinde’s three sons and daughter-in-law were not present in court because the ICPC did not serve them with the criminal charges as required by law. ICPC’s lawyer, Mr. Henry Emore, asked for an adjournment to fix this. To solve the problem, the judge ordered that the criminal charges be served on Ojerinde’s children in court through their lawyer. The arraignment was postponed until April 19th, and the judge warned that there would be consequences if Ojerinde’s children didn’t show up in court on the new date. The charges were filed against Ojerinde, his children, and several other defendants like, Doyin Ogbohi Petroleum Ltd, Cheng Marbles Ltd, Sapati International Schools Ltd, Trillium Learning Centre Ltd, Standout Institutes Ltd and Esli Perfect Security Printers Ltd, by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami.
Apart from Ojerinde’s children, other defendants in charge are Doyin Ogbohi Petroleum Ltd, Cheng Marbles Ltd, Sapati International Schools Ltd, Trillium Learning Centre Ltd, Standout Institutes Ltd and Esli Perfect Security Printers Ltd.
