JAMB PROFILE CODE FORGOTTEN? SEE HOW TO GET IT BACK
JAMB profile code is one of the most important things to know to be able to complete your registration. In this guide, you’ll learn how to get it back if you’ve forgotten it.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board is a Nigerian entrance examination board for tertiary-level institutions. It conducts entrance examinations for prospective undergraduates into Nigerian universities on an annual basis.
If you’re interested in participating in this year’s exam, then you must first carry out the SMS registration. After that, you’ll receive a code containing 10 characters.
You need to present those ten characters at any of the places where you can purchase JAMB ePIN.
We’ve been receiving a lot of complaints lately regarding this simple piece of information. We received an email saying “I forgot my JAMB profile code, what do I do?”
Some of the queries we’ve been getting lately include:
- How to check the JAMB profile code
- How to recover lost JAMB profile code
- What is the JAMB profile code?
After receiving those series of complaints, we decided to help those students get back this important piece of information they’ve lost.

WHAT IS THE JAMB PROFILE CODE?
The profile code is a 10-character code JAMB sends to your mobile device after confirming your interest in the annual examination. It is the very first step to take during registration.
HOW TO CHECK YOUR PROFILE CODE ON PHONE
- Text RESEND to 55019 using the mobile phone number you used for registering your profile.
- After that, wait a few minutes and you’ll receive an SMS from 55019 containing your 10-character profile code.
As we’ve stated above, you must send the message using the mobile phone number you registered with, otherwise, you won’t receive any message.
Also, you need to have up to 100 naira thereabouts. The reason is, that you’ll have to pay a service charge. This charge varies with network providers.
However, there are cases where the network delays in sending you the message. If you’re sure it is on the same phone number you registered with, then have no fear; just wait a few hours and try again.
If you’ve misplaced the phone number you used during registration, then you have to do a welcome back. You can do that by visiting the office of your mobile network operator.
HOW TO CHECK ON JAMB PORTAL
- Visit JAMB portal using https://www.jamb.org.ng/efacility_/login
- Enter your email address and password to log in
- Afterwards, your full name along with your JAMB profile code would be displayed on top of the screen.
The above method is only useful for anyone who commenced or completed profile registration on the official website.
If you are yet to commence registration or you need your profile code to purchase your ePIN, then the only way to get it back is by SMS.
